How we work: our method and editorial policy
This page sets out how we choose games, where facts come from, and what we do when something changes.
Facts we check, and where
For every game we list, the checkable details are platforms, the PEGI age rating and whether it is free to start. These come from primary sources: the PEGI database at pegi.info, official platform stores and publishers’ own pages. Each page lists its sources and shows the date they were last checked. If a source disagrees with another, we use the official rating body or platform holder and leave out anything we cannot confirm.
What is opinion
Why a game might suit you, the “DNA” traits on our “games like” pages and session-length estimates are editorial judgements. They are based on published descriptions of how each game plays, official trailers and store information, and widely available player documentation. We label these as editorial views and do not claim personal playtime figures or lab-style testing.
How the Pathfinder matches games
The Pathfinder uses a fixed list of games and four answers. It first removes games that are not available on the platform you chose. It then gives points for matching your session length (with partial credit for a neighbouring length), for supporting the way you want to play, and for fitting your mood. Results are sorted by points, and each one lists exactly which answers it matched. Nothing is sponsored and nothing is boosted.
Age ratings
PEGI ratings are written as plain text, for example “PEGI 12”. A rating tells you the minimum age the content is suitable for; it is not a measure of difficulty. Games with online play or in-game purchases can carry extra content descriptors — check the PEGI entry and use your platform’s parental controls.
Images and writing tools
All images are original abstract artwork generated for this site. They never show game characters, logos, box art or screenshots. Text is researched and drafted with the help of AI writing tools, then checked against the sources listed on each page.
Corrections and updates
Platforms and ratings change. If you spot something out of date, email [email protected] with the page address and what has changed. We check the official source and update the page and its “last checked” date. We do not accept payment, free copies in exchange for coverage, or requests to add or remove games.
